i have this test my teacher gave to me and i don't understand anything its due tomorrow the 1-21-10

A )

I think it a typo ( a typewritter or typewritten error) they should be seperate and there printer printed it wrong

However to do a average you must have at least 2 or more data results of the same animal and than divide by the number of data

example

a cheetah ran the the following same track distance of 102.6 ft with the following time ( in seconds) for 10 tries of the track

1) 1.2
2) .98
3) 1.3
4) 1.0
5) .95
6) .99
7) 1.1
.89
9) 1.4
10) 1.0

average ( av) = data 1 + data 2 + data 3 ...data ( number of data) / number of data

( ps I doing the addition in step so you can follow me doing this. Normally I just add the whole thing up and divide it, but for you i doing it this way. Okay )

av = 1.2 + .98 + 1.3 + 1.0 + .95+ .99+ 1.1 + .89 + 1.4 + 1.0 / 10

av = 2.18 + 1.3 + 1.0 + .95+ .99+ 1.1 + .89 + 1.4 + 1.0 / 10

av = 3.48 + 1.0 + .95+ .99+ 1.1 + .89 + 1.4 + 1.0 / 10

av = 4.48 + .95 +.99+ 1.1 + .89 + 1.4 + 1.0 / 10

av = 5.43 +.99 + 1.1 + .89 + 1.4 + 1.0 / 10

av = 6.42 + 1.1 + .89 + 1.4 + 1.0 / 10

av = 7.52 + .89 + 1.4 + 1.0 / 10

av = 8.41 + 1.4 + 1.0 / 10

av = 9.81 + 1.0 / 10

av = 10.81/ 10

av = 1.081 seconds

av speed = 102.6 * 1.081 - time the track lenght and the average time to get ave speed per seconds

av speed = 399278.16 per hr - Multiplication

av speed = 399278.16 / 5280 - divide by 5280 to get mph

av speed = 75.62086364 mph

if not

than the 70 +15 / 2 = 85 / 2 = 42.5 mph

B) let math slove it, by do the following

michale johnson = 23.16 miles per hour

cheetah 70

70/23.16 = 3.0224525

So the cheetah is 3.0224525 times faster than michale johnson best speed

or by percentage

3.0224525 * 100 = x%

302.24525 % the cheetah is faster than michale johnson
