Do Any Famous NFL or MLB High Profile Sports Figures Live Near You?
I live in Encinitas, CA which is near the coast in the northern part of San Diego County.
I was reading an article on the signing of Derek Smith by the Chargers the other day and noticed that he has owned a home in Encinitas for the past few years. I started realizing that a lot of high profile (or formerly) sports figures live within a few miles of me, but I never see them around town.
Within 5 miles of my house:
John Carney - Kicker for the Chargers, Saints and now the Chiefs. I see his pictures up with all of this kids at my children's pediatricians office, but have never seen him around
Bobby Beathard - Former Chargers GM supposedly surfs at a couple of my favorite local breaks and lives within a mile of me.
Steve Mariucci - Former 49ers and Lions HC lives one city to the south in Del Mar
Norv Turner - Chargers HC
Lives near Del Mar as well
Steve Finley - Former Padres OF
I surf in front of his Del Mar house a lot
What about you...stories please?
I live in a small town of Reisterstown, Maryland (right next to Owings Mills, Maryland). I know for a fact that Jim Harbaugh (former NFL QB, current college football coach somewhere...) used to live right down the street from me. I also know that Brian Billick probably lived near me because I would always see him at Caribou Coffee. I saw Terrell Suggs on a regular basis at Caribou Coffee, and I actually saw him once earlier this year in EB Game World buying Rock Band. Edwin Mulitalo (former O-Lineman for the Ravens) lived near me as well. Cal Ripken did as well, but apparently now Will Smith lives there. Matt Stover lives about 25 minutes from my house, I used to actually babysit his kids- NICEST GUY I'VE EVER MET.
