Dallas Cowboys Tickets – Dallas Cowboys Celebrate 50 Years
The Dallas Cowboys are a team that boasts one of the most expansive fan bases, and followers of the Cowboys stretch coast to coast and beyond. The 2010 season will provide even more fodder for Cowboys fans to celebrate. The 2010 season marks the 50th anniversary of the team's induction into the league, and the team has big plans to celebrate.
To start, they have designed a special logo in commemoration featuring a large "50" with the iconic Cowboys star as the backdrop and flanked by "1960" and "2010." The logo will be seen frequently this season, as it will be on everything from team jerseys to printed material.
The celebration will continue with the images on individual game tickets, which will feature images from legendary events in Cowboys history. Some of the home games will also feature celebrations. The specific games will be announced at a later date. The team's first regular-season home game will be on Sunday, Sept. 19 against the Chicago Bears.
Fans at that game should expect some sort of 50th anniversary celebration, as the next home game isn't until Week Five. It isn't all sunshine and rainbows this preseason, though, especially with the team's wide receivers. The team is no stranger to wide receivers with baggage (*cough* Terrell Owens), and their practice in that situation has likely helped them deal with veteran wide receiver Patrick Crayton. Despite saying earlier that he wanted to remain with the Cowboys, Crayton is now pushing to leave after learning of talks to trade him.
According to NFL.com, the Cowboys are refusing to release him, but a trade could still be in the cards. In the meantime, Crayton hasn't been to the team's voluntary workouts. Crayton has been with the Cowboys since he entered the league in 2004. In that time, he has tallied 196 receptions, 2,888 yards and 23 touchdowns.
The team's decision to shop Crayton isn't much of a surprise since they used their first-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft on Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant. They also have stars like Miles Austin and Roy Williams. Williams hasn't lived up to his expectations so far—the Cowboys gave up a first-round draft pick to land him—but he is adamant that he plans on being a bigger contributor in the coming season. Last season, Williams had 38 receptions for 596 yards and seven touchdowns.
The team is working on contracts with many players this offseason, one of whom is safety Gerald Sensabaugh. Sensabaugh signed his second-round tender recently for $1.8 million. According to ESPN, his agent, Kevin Conner, said that a long-term deal with the Cowboys is still possible, even with the tender. Sensabaugh spent the first four seasons of his career (2005-2008) with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Last season (2009) was his first with the Cowboys, and he tallied 66 tackles, eight passes defended and one interception. He had similar totals during his seasons with the Jaguars.
